Mindful Balance Therapy Center P.L.L.C.

Jaimie Z. Allen, LCMHC, R-DMT

I received my Master's Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy and Counseling from Lesley University. I have worked as Day Student Clinical Supervisor and Residential Clinical Supervisor at a therapeutic school for children and adolescents with severe mental health diagnoses for over 3 years. Currently I have been a clinician at MBTC for over 3 years and work with a wide variety of clientele such as: Children (10 y/o +), Adolescents, Young Adults, and Adults. I am welcoming clients in my practice that seek positive changes in their mental health status as well as an increased life satisfaction.

I am fully trained in EMDR through the EMDR Institute and find it helpful to utilize with clients experiencing anxiety and trauma symptoms. My other passion is integrating the Arts into a mindful, strength-based approach. I use the Expressive Arts Therapies and Dance/Movement Therapy, in my sessions as they relate to each client's healing process.

I use a client-centered approach to help my clients develop positive coping skills and strategies for a happy and fulfilling life. I identify with Carl Roger's theory of establishing unconditional positive regard with each client and aim to meet them wherever they may be at in their life journey.

In addition to utilizing the Arts in therapy, I believe that pets can be a source of unconditional love and support. I currently have a Therapy Dog in training named Rebelle and she can be a great addition to the therapeutic process. Rebelle has been working with me for several years and she loves interacting with clients, even if it is just to be a positive presence in the room. Even though she has a little ways to go to be an official Therapy Dog, I have seen her work wonders with people of all ages.
